I removed the old water filter, install a new water filter back in, pushed firmly to make sure the filter was seated, and the filter will not pivot back up. I tried to reinstall the old filter and it will not pivot up either.

Seems like refrigerator is running constantly day and night. Been told by a couple of repairman that Choice Home Warranty that this is NORMAL, which I don't believe!
For model number LFX28978ST
Hello John, Thank you for the question. No it is not normal. Depending on how frequently the refrigerator door is opened, the compressor should cycle four or five times a day. We suggest cleaning the coils at the back of the appliance and around the compressor. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Remove and replace light switch
Video makes it look easy. Kenmore refrigerator does not have "groove" along the right hand side of switch that allows for pushing down on release. Used a thin screwdriver to get under to push while holding switch edge with pliers. Kept slipping. Tape sides to avoid scratching inside of refrigerator.

The factory door gasket was split and needed replacing
I pulled the gasket off and installed the new one. It was very easy. All I had to do was to push the new gasket in place in the grooves in the door. The gasket I received was identical to the one I replaced.
