Hello,
My ice maker continuously filled the other day and flooded the kitchen floor. We turned the ice maker off and it stopped filling. My research online points to the water inlet valve. A couple years ago we replaced the water inlet valve for a dripping water dispenser, which solved that problem. What part of the ice maker tells the water to stop filling the tray? I just don’t understand how this could be that valve.

The water inlet valve PS3497634 supplies water to the refrigerator ice and water dispenser. The valve requires a minimum of 20psi to work properly. If the water pressure is too low, the valve may not close fully when the power is shut off. As a result, the valve leaks water into the ice maker, causing it to overflow. We hope this helps. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!
