The inner bowl holds the food as it cooks in the slow cooker. This ceramic inner bowl is dishwasher safe, black in color, and measures approximately 18 inches long by 11 inches wide, and has a 6 quart capacity. Cracks can form in these bowls due to use or the unit being dropped, this allows food and liquid to spill into the slow cooker itself. If cracks do appear you should replace the bowl.
