Why might blender kitkenaid model ksb560obo be making a grinding noise with a slight burning smell especially at high speed.

Hello, Thank you for your question. That issue is usually caused from the blades being worn/damaged. You will need to replace those to fix the issue. The blades are sold with the base of the blender. You would need to order Part# PS11756236. We hope this helps.

Blender leaks around bottom of pitcher. It seams to be around the blades where it connects to bottom washer on the pitcher.

I didn't realize there was a spoon in the blender and it made a total racket as the blades and housing were falling apart. The blender jar, blades and housing are all one piece so my less than 2 month old blender was completely trashed. Put masking tape around the coupling and put the coupling in a vise upside down. took the bottom apart and unscrewed the main shaft screw. ITS LEFT HAND THREAD!!! Screw on new coupling and put the bottom back on.The masking tape is just to protect the finish.
