If your microwave is not turning on it could be due to your fuse needing to be replaced. This part protects the microwave by shutting it off if there is an electrical surge. This fuse is just over an inch long, is metallic on both ends and ceramic in the middle. Before beginning this repair, unplug the appliance and wait a few minutes before starting. Remove the outer cabinet which is held in place with two screws. You will then locate the power cord which will lead you to the fuse holder. Determine if the fuse has blown. Using an ohmmeter, you should be able to figure out if it has blown. A proper reading is zero ohms, if it reads as anything else then your fuse has in fact blown. Simply snap the old fuse out of place and place the new one in.

It functions by detecting the door’s position—open or closed—and relaying this information to the microwave’s electronic control system. This ensures the unit only activates when the door is securely latched. Commonly used in microwave models experiencing issues such as failure to start or lack of heating, the switch plays a vital role in maintaining safe operation. Installation involves accessing the internal door latch mechanism and replacing the switch, which typically requires basic tools and careful handling to avoid damage to surrounding components. The switch is compact and designed to fit seamlessly within the microwave’s door assembly.

How do you remove the door hinge screw?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello and thank you for writing. A damaged hinge on a microwave oven should be repaired before the oven is used again. Step 1 Shut off the power to the microwave from your home's main circuit breaker box. Push the breaker switch that supplies the electricity to the appliance to the "Off" position for the duration of your repairs. Step 2 Remove the screws securing the air grille above the microwave door; the type and number of screws vary by brand and model. Pull the grille off of the front of the appliance and set it aside. Step 3 Open the microwave door. Remove the hinge pin or screw holding the door assembly to the top hinge. Lift the door assembly up and off of the bottom hinge. Place the removed door face down on a padded surface. Step 4 Clean the hinge areas with a sponge and warm, soapy water to remove any grime or food particles. Dry the hinges with a soft cloth. A buildup of food or grime on the hinges may prevent them from opening and closing properly. Step 5 Try gently wiggling the door hinges. Tighten the hinge screws along the top and bottom edges of the microwave cabinet if you felt the hinges move. Step 6 Replace the door hinges if they are bent or broken. Remove the hinge screws from the top and bottom edges of the microwave cabinet. Keep the removed screws, but discard the old hinges. Line up the screw holes on the cabinet with the mounting screw holes on the replacement hinges. Reinsert and tighten the removed screws. Step 7 Reverse the disassembly process to replace the microwave door. Flip the breaker switch back to the "On" position to restore the electrical supply. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

The door handle is broken and must be replaced. Must the door be removed and taken apart to replace the handle? Please provide steps.
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Bob, thank you for asking. We have a testimonial on our site from a customer that had installed it. He says: Unscrewed 3 screws on side of door and two on the bottom. Slowly pry apart outside frame from black inside facing door. Separate pieces carefully. You won’t have to completely remove outside door cover if you have a short driver for the two Torx screws holding the handle on. Replace and carefully put back together. Tip: do not over screw the screws, back in, it will easily crack the old plastic. We hope this helps.

There was no "fixing" per say but we still could not use the microwave without the plate. This has to be one of the biggest plates for a microwave. We ordered this through your company and we had it three days later. THREE DAYS! We had expected anywhere from 1-2 weeks. My husband was so impressed he bookmarked your site for future re ference. Thank you for being so efficient and prompt. The glass turntable fit like a glove! Sincerely, Mark and Lia Hammond

Fire in microwave melted several parts

Remove the filters and use a Torx driver to remove two screws holding the motor. The wires on on the motor are held in place by a plastic clamp that must be pried open on one side. That's all it takes to replace the drive motor. Everything else that makes the turntable spin lifts off from inside the microwave.

Read some instructions and easily found the fuse. Replaced it. Still didn't work. Took control panel off to check door switches. Nothing I read mentioned a second fuse. Tested and it to had blown. Ordered another one. Popped them in. Done.
