Due to the age of the appliance, the screws were almost fused to the burner. I used a spray lubricant and broke the screws free with an impact screw driver. I had to remove the two separate components of the gas burner unit, each had two screws. I lifted then tilted the lower portion of the burner unit to allow access to the underside of the igniter.
