Cluny - For model number KFCS22EVMS8

On the top shelf right at the back attached to the back of the fridge is a white box (not electronics on it). It is attached to the top of the fridge. This box is making a strange sound which has not happened before. Likely a fan or fliter having an issue (loud clicking noise). What do i do to check out what is happening and what replacement part do i need?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Cluny, Thank you for your question. In the top back corner of the refrigerator, the part you are referring to would be the compartment for the water filter. If you are hearing a noise from this compartment, this is caused by a change in pressure when water is used from the water tank of your refrigerator. This noise is normal and it will stop once the pressure has returned to normal. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

my freezer suddenly quite making ice.can you help?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Jerry, thank you for contacting us. Please make sure the ice maker is getting water, if not the issue is probably related to a clogged water filter, part number PS11722130, or a defective water inlet valve, part number PS11754529. If that is not the case, we would suggest checking the ice maker assembly, part number PS11765709. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

Craig - For model number KFCS22EVMS8

Refrigerator is ~ 7 years old. 4 years into it the ice maker stopped working. Ice cubes would get stuck in dispenser, jamming the dispenser and not allowing it to turn/drop fresh ice cubes in tray. I would have to reach in and unjam dispenser to make it work. I replaced ice maker with oem replacement part (full ice maker assembly), and it worked up until November last year. I purchased a second oem icemaker assembly, and it lasted about 3 months before the same issue of jamming presented itself. Freezer temp a 0. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Craig, Thank you for the question. This could also be caused by the Ice Maker getting too much water and over filling causing the ice cubes to jam. When changing out the Ice Maker it was unplugged and could have reset the Water Valve long enough for it to work for a bit. Please see the link below on testing the Water Valve. We hope this helps! https://www.partselect.com/Refrigerator+test-water-valve+repair.htm

Fridge and freezer warm compressor is running 2 fans are working coils are clean can't find the problem
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Chris, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number that you have provided and would recommend checking the thermistor, the air damper control, the defrost heater, and the main control board. Also even though you stated that both fans were running, if the evaporator fan in the freezer is not producing cold air, we would still recommend checking it. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Removing the existing filter by rotating as directed and then dislodging from 'docking' station proved difficult. Turns out, the old filter is under a bit of vacuum pressure and getting the unit to separate or release was a challenge.

I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear. This gave me move 'room' to grip and slightly rotate then pull the old filter forward and away from the tight suction connection. I was concerned that I would be too forceful for the plastic assemblies and would break something; deliberate motions and a steady thought process on the problem helped disengage the darned old filter!
