Hi
My refrigerator will not go lower than 40 degrees. If I unplug it and plug it back in it will reset at go to 38 degrees. But after awhile it will do the same thing and stay above 40 degrees. I have to keep unplugging it. What could be the issue?

Hi Bill, thank you for reaching out. We would suggest checking the drain hose for clogging first. If it is fine, the issue could be with the defrost heater assembly, part number PS11723183. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
Question 1: Do I use a standard 30W "Appliance bulb" or do I use a standard 40W "Appliance Bulb" in the Refrigerator section of my KitchenAid KFCMP22EXMP5 Refrigerator/Freezer?
Question 2: Does the Freezer section (on bottom) for this KitchenAid model also use the same bulb as the Refrigerator section?
Question 3: Can you provide instructions on how to remove the transparent plastic cover over the bulb in the Refrigerator section without cracking the plastic?

Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear.
