Replaced temperature sensor (ps11748765). Set oven temp to 300. Tone signaled at temperature but internal separate thermometer says 150. What else could be the cause?

Hi Carl, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. Good luck with your repair.

Hi. I’ve replaced the hi temp thermostat switch on the back of the oven after the oven stopped working after a self cleaning cycle. It didn’t work do you have any ideas? I e also read that a control temperature fuse can go too. Thanks

Hello Brian, thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Temperature Sensor,PartSelect Number PS11748765. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

Easily removed the door from the oven by releasing clips attached to the door hinge -- very nicely engineered. Removed about 6 philips head screws to allow the door assembly to be taken apart for access to the glass. Lifted out the broken glass, cleaned the inside of the door, installed the new glass, reassembled the door (a two minute project), and reattached the door to the oven. Cleaning the inside of the door took longer than the actual repair!
Something Kitchen Aid wont tell you but running a self clean on this model stove blows the fuse located on the back of the stove.
First I slid the stove out and removed the back of the stove held in place by 8 Phillips screws. The thermostat fuse is located near the top middle on the back of the stove. Remove the 2 screws holding it in place. Disconnect the wires, plug in the new part. Put it all back together. Job done in less than 30 minutes.
This repair would have cost $164 through A&E factory service.
The glass broke after I took the oven door off to tighten the handle which had become lose.....There are 4 screws and one of th 4 had come out , hence the lose handle....So I tightened the 4 screws which were in a metal bracket only to find out under all the foil wrap was glass, and by tightning the screws they fractured the glass into a million little shards of glass...who knew the glass was the full size of the door, and who knew the metal bracket was over top of the glass... too much presurre and the glass explodes. So what should have been an easy re-tighten job cost me alot of time and money.rather than tighten the 4 screws down too hard and break the glass agin, I gentley tightened and used lock tight glue so the screws would not come out again.....Hope that saves someone the problems i had to go through.
