Greg - For model number Kdte204kps1
May 27, 2026
Won't finish cycle and leaves water in dishwasher. Cancel/ drain won't pump. Reset breaker for hours usually works. Tired of this machine. Is there a second filter underneath that is clogged or is this new machine junk.
Hello Greg, thank you for reaching out to us. Your dishwasher has a 3-part filtration setup. The upper filter assembly, the cylindrical piece in the center. You remove this by twisting it a quarter turn counterclockwise. Once the top cylinder is removed, reach down into the circular opening and pull the heavy mesh lower filter out. Also, remove the diverter, a flat silver metal piece under the filters gets caked with scum and restricts flow. Take all three parts to the sink, run them under warm water, and scrub them gently with an old toothbrush to clear the food particles and calcium buildup. Inpsect the check valve, part number PS16745118. If it gets jammed with a piece of plastic (like from a wash pod) or deteriorates, it acts like a closed door and stops water from pumping out. If these step do not help, you will need to replace the drain pump, part number PS16218089, to fix the issue. We hope this information helps!

I searched for another dishrack that was compatible with our unit. After measuring and searching online I found Partselect website and placed the order. It was a very easy process. I bought the rack without wheels and just removed the ones from our current bottom rack and put them on the new rack.
