How do I "clean" this coffee maker?
For model number KCM1402QG0
Hi Charles, thank you for reaching out. To clean the coffee maker, remove the brew basket and carafe from the coffee maker. Wash the brew basket and Gold Tone permanent filter in hot, soapy water and rinse with hot water. Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads. These parts can also be washed on the upper rack of a dishwasher. Unplug the coffee maker and wipe the housing with a warm, soapy cloth. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads. We hope this helps.

Broken carafe...seems to be a very common problem
Purchased a replacement carafe for Kitchen Aid model KCM1402. Was a bit skeptical as to whether this carafe would fit. It was a perfect fit, and I am a very happy customer. I can now use my $120 kitchen aid coffee maker again. This carafe will also fit kcm222 kcm223. I would highly recommend that you order your parts from this site
