ICE MAKER – Part Number: 00649288
No Longer Available
ICE MAKER
Part #00649288
This ice maker is a genuine OEM replacement part for refrigerators. The outer housing, measuring 14 inches by 8 inches, is white in color and made of plastic. The ice maker is in the freezer compartment and works alongside the motor and water valve to freeze water into ice cubes and dispense them as needed. If you are having difficulties making and dispensing ice, hearing unusual noises, or you notice leaking water, the ice maker is likely in need of replacement. These issues can be caused by a build-up of ice in the ice mold or the ice dispenser, physical damage, or general wear and tear from operation. Remove the fasteners securing the faulty icemaker in the freezer and disconnect the wiring harness and water supply line. Place the new ice maker in position and reconnect the wiring harness and water supply line before securing it with the appropriate screws/brackets. Once you are done with the repair, test the ice maker by giving it time to cycle and produce ice.

Refrigerator Flap
Part #00498002
This is a plastic flap with a spring and hinge designed for use within freezers and ice compartments in refrigerators and is a genuine OEM part. This flap controls the amount of ice that is dispensed from the ice compartment and is attached with a wire to the control board. You may need to replace this flap due to sanitation issues or mechanical issues where the flap is stuck or damaged. This flap is sold as an individual part and will only require a flathead and Phillips-head screwdriver to replace. To replace it, disconnect the appliance from the wall outlet and access the ice compartment and use your Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the electronic control board. After the control board is removed, use your flathead screwdriver to disconnect and remove the old flap before replacing it with the new one and connecting that one with the control board, before reassembling the entire compartment.

Biggest issue was trying to work around the ice maker. It the ice maker was gone it would be a snap. Can not beleave the small size of the replacment motor and 12 volt dc. Good luck.
