If you notice the choke lever is loose, difficult to adjust, or simply does not hold, the friction ball is likely damaged or warped. To prevent any sort of issues with the friction ball in the future, make sure to perform regular cleaning and maintenance on the choke mechanism and apply a small amount of lubricant such as silicone grease or engine oil when necessary. To replace the choke friction ball in your engine, disconnect the spark plug on your equipment and access the choke mechanism ? which may require you to disassemble covers, filters, or other components to access it.
