This is replacement ball bearing is a commonly used item on a variety of power tools. Bearings are specially designed to allow connected parts to rotate smoothly. I found this unit by the side of the road. One power input terminal was loose. Inside it was broken. Replacement was to remove the screws, pull out the wire, and cut the wire next to the terminal. I was able to strip the wire and crimp it in the terminal. I then soldered both terminals for a good connection.
