The exterior walls of the freezer are hot.

Hi Bob, thank you for reaching out. It is normal for the exterior walls of a freezer to feel warm, and sometimes even hot, due to the heat generated by the refrigeration process. The compressor, which moves refrigerant through the system, generates heat as it runs, and this heat is dissipated to the outside of the freezer. unplug the freezer. remove the 2 screws holding the timer, unplug the electrical fitting w/4 prongs. reverse the steps and you are done.
