Upright Freezer will not get freeze. Coils look fine....compressor is hot when plugged in. Fan amd light is working. I hear compressor turning on and off. Which part can it be?

Hi Joe, thank you for contacting us. First, ensure that the door gasket is in good working order. You can check the door gasket by closing the refrigerator door on a small piece of paper and trapping it between the gasket and the fridge. Slowly pull the paper out. You should feel some tension as you do so, if not, the gasket may be weak or broken at this point. Repeat this test around the entire length of the gasket. If the gasket is defective, you may need to replace it. The part number for the door gasket is PS296705. If it is not defective, then you may need to check the temperature control thermostat, part number PS12577766. To determine if the thermostat is defective, rotate the thermostat from the lowest setting to the highest setting and listen for a click sound. If you hear a click, the thermostat is not likely to be defective. If you do not hear a click, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. We hope this sorts out your problem!

unplug the freezer. remove the 2 screws holding the timer, unplug the electrical fitting w/4 prongs. reverse the steps and you are done.

I contacted just answer and Bryan the technician told me the compressor relay or compressor was out. I ordered the relay, installed it and it began working.
