Temp alarm on fridge side goes off. Reset it, it starts cooling then goes off again. Check door seal and everything is working..a tight seal. Where do I start?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Linda, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat Kit. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps.

Why ice maker not making ice
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Craig, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the water filter for blockage. Dirty or clogged water filter prevents ice maker from making ice. If this does not resolve the issue, then you may need to check the water inlet valve, part number PS7784018, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

water leaking out of refrigerator
608 of 723 people found this instruction helpful.

In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.
