Surface Element - 8" - 2600W

The range surface element provides heat to the cooking surface on top of the range. The element has a universal plug, is 8 inches in diameter, spans 5 coils in width and reaches 2600 watts. Before you begin your repair, ensure that the elements are turned off and have had time to cool. Once you have removed the element this is a good time to ensure the terminal is in good condition (they can wear over time) which may need to be replaced as well. This quick repair requires no tools except gloves for safety, and a small amount of time.

This part is located beneath the heating element on your range, and is designed to catch any spills. If your current drip bowl is worn or stained, consider replacing it. This heavy chrome drip bowl is compatible with electric ranges that utilize plug-in surface burners. This bowl has a narrow 3/8-inch lip and is 6 inches in diameter. Ensure that the drip bowl you are replacing is also 6 inches in diameter as there is also an 8-inch model. This part is very easy to replace, all you will need to do is remove the element and replace the old drip bowl with the new one.

Terminal block kits are also known as terminal boards, or terminal strips, and they are found in a wide variety of household appliances. Most often in ranges, wall ovens, and dryers. This kit attaches the power cord to the inner wiring of your appliance. If the terminal block is faulty, your appliance will not get the power it needs to operate properly. Burner Switch Kit

This is a burner switch kit, also known as the surface element control switch repair kit, for ranges. This burner switch kit sends voltage to the surface element coil and it controls the stove top surface burner. If the following symptoms occur, installing the switch could be the solution to the problem: surface element not heating, overheating, or inconsistent heating. Usually, if the element is not defective, that is a sign there is an issue with the switch. The kit comes with several insert sizes, and includes screws as well. The repair was simple; first I removed the 2 screws from the old element and disconnected the wires and then I inserted the new element reconnected the wires and replaced the screws . The repair was easy and took less that 15 min. The oven works as good as new and I saved alot of money by doing it myself. read more

I pulled my unit out of the wall and noticed that the insulation around the top broiler element was a bit brown. PartsSelect serivce was AMAZING - I ordered online on Sunday afternoon, and the part arrived Tuesday with standard shipping! First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place.
