Surface Burner Switch - 8"

This switch controls the large surface burner. As per manufacture the original screws will damage new switch. New screws are needed.


6" Radiant Element with Limiter - 1200W

This is a six-inch radiant element with limiter. It works in conjunction with your stove top range. The purpose of this part is to heat up the cooking area that is located on top of the range, also known as your stove top. If you suspect that your surface element is not properly heating then you may want to test the element for continuity. This model is sold individually and is 1200 watts. The tools you will need for this installation include a Phillips screwdriver and a 14-inch nut driver.

FIRST I UNPLUGGED THE GLASS TOP RANGE. While locating the part on the PartSelect diagram I was also able to determine how to access the burned out element. burner would not heat

killed the 50 amp power. removed 3 screws from above oven door slid out cook top, dropped brace holding 2 front burners. The connector corroded off had to look for a high heat connector to connect to the element, after that just screwed everything back together. read more

Disconnected power. Removed hold down fasteners for stove top. Fortunately, I did not flue down or use the double back tape to secure stovetop to counter. If this adhesive were used, it is possible I would have had great difficulty in removing range. I did not disconnect the wiring, but turned the range top over to access the cover.
