You will need to remove the microwave cover/housing to access the lever. First, unplug the microwave from the power source to prevent electrical hazards. Locate the control panel and remove the fasteners that hold it to the microwave frame. Make a note of how the wires are connected to the terminals on the control board. It can be helpful to take a picture for reference. Pry the door release lever off and press the new one into place on the control panel. Reposition the control panel on the microwave frame and reattach the wire connectors to the appropriate terminals. Make sure it is properly aligned before mounting it in place with the fasteners. Reassemble the microwave and reconnect it to the power source.
