This flanged sleeve, also known as a bushing or sleeve bearing, is responsible for securely connecting the guard link assembly to the upper guard assembly in your miter saw. It maintains stability and proper alignment between these two components. The guard link is the part that attaches to the blade guard and is responsible for lifting the guard when the saw blade is lowered. If you notice that the flanged sleeve is worn, damaged, or has excessive play, it can cause the guard link to become wobbly, restrict its movement, or produce unusual noises during operation. To replace the flanged sleeve, you will need a screwdriver with a Torx bit. Simply unscrew the screws on each end of the guard link to remove it along with the flanged sleeves. It is important to note that this replacement part is an authentic OEM component and is sold individually.
