Austin - For model number CHS950P2M6S1

Lower oven light bulb burned out. Neglected to power off range before attempting to replace bulb and replacement bulb broke while trying to install. Light is now non functional. Unsure if the light assembly got damaged or if I shorted out the light control board. Also unsure what part to replace for the board. thanks!
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Austin, thank you for getting in touch. When replacing an oven light bulb, it is important to ensure the power is turned off to avoid any electrical hazards. Since the replacement bulb broke during installation and the light is now non-functional, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue: 1. Power Off and Safety: Ensure the power to the oven is completely turned off at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel to prevent any risk of electric shock. 2. Inspect the Light Assembly: Check the light socket and assembly for any visible damage or debris from the broken bulb. Carefully remove any broken glass or debris. 3. Check the Light Socket: Examine the light socket for any signs of damage or corrosion. If the socket appears damaged, it may need to be replaced. 4. Test with a New Bulb: Once the socket is clear and undamaged, try installing a new bulb to see if the light functions. Make sure the bulb is the correct type and wattage for your oven. If the light still does not work with a new bulb, there may be an issue with the control board, part number PS17626191. We would recommend checking it to solve the problem. Glad to be of help!

terminal block melted

The existing terminal block on my Ge oven/Range had melted due to a loose wire causing sparking and starting the plastic casing of the terminal block on fire and melting it, Part select made the part easy to find and had it at my house in 2 days. All I had to do was remove six screws to take the back sheet metal cover off of the oven. U nscrew the terminal connections remove two mounting screws that held the terminal on to the oven body. This was a little trickier than it should have been because the melted plastic had reformed making it very hard to access the mounting screws. i then mounted the new piece and plugged the oven in, it took 15 minutes and was very easy. definitely saved me at-least a $100 for the service call i would have made if finding the part wasn't so convenient
