how can I remove stove top?
For model number BGGF3042KFK
Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for your question. Before beginning this repair, make sure you unplug the oven from the electrical outlet and that you have turned the gas off. Then remove the burner grates from the top of the stove and then the burner caps and bases. Next, remove the screws securing the orifice holders to the maintop. Then use a putty knife under the maintop to release the 2 spring clips. Lift the maintop up and release the left mounting pin first, so you can remove the top. To reinstall the maintop, follow the steps in reverse. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Neither Bake nor Quick bake works, Broil does. The element gets hit enough to ignite the gas, the valve just never opens. I have replaced the control board, the relay on the original board never clicked like it does for broil. I’ve replaced the valve assembly. Bake would work if I rapped on the bake valve when it should’ve been running. I was sure I got a bad part so I ordered a replacement right away. Put the replacement valve in and it doesn’t work either, I light tap on the top of the valve and it opens. Ordered a replacement temp probe…still not turning on. I’ve replaced everything but the heating element and it’s still not working. When there’s gas present, the element is hot enough to ignite it. Is the element what needs to be replaced or am I missing something? Please help!!

Bought a new gas oven that did not come with a propane conversion kit.
I followed the simple instructions that were included in the kit. I started by replacing the 5 orifices on the top burners. The orifices are well labeled with numbers and colors. Next, I tightened the broiler burner orifice and the oven burner orifice with a 1/2 inch wrench. I had to tighten them pretty good to get the flame down where it

is supposed to be. Then, I checked for leaks and I was then ready to cook.

Stove was set up for natural gas and needed to be converted to LP
The LP conversion kit contained very good, detailed instructions. I replaced the gas orifices, took off the bottom door and adjusted the regulator.
Used the screwdriver to adjust the low flame and everything was done.

I called a repair place. They charged $54 to diagnose, (said it needed a new latch motor) then wanted $220 to complete the repair. I checked online prices and did it myself for about 15 minutes work and the latch motor itself ($44?).
