I am having issues with the Steam functionality on my machine. It makes espresso no problem, but the steam is not strong and eventually just stops. You can hear the pump every second or so but steam just sputters. Any idea what part I may need?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Jeff, thank you for your question. Your steam wand could be clogged. You can try cleaning it with a needle and white vinegar. It could also be a solenoid valve issue. If it becomes clogged or malfunctioned, then steam will only be emitted extremely slowly, if at all. Part number SP0020444. We hope this helps. If you need help placing an order, our customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Muneer - For model number BES860XL
March 8, 2023
Hello, my machine builds pressure very slowly, the needle on the pressure gauge doesn't jump up immediately, so half or 3/4 of the shot will be pulled before the gauge reads espresso pressure. I tried choking the machine with the cleaning disc and pressure didn't build at all according to the gauge. Not sure what the problem could be.Also, do all of the tubes you sell come with the clips to secure them at the inlet points? Thanks!
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Muneer, Thank you for your question. If your Barista Express is not building pressure, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You may have a broken or damaged pressure gauge, a broken seal or gasket, or a clogged water line. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!

Breville Barista Express BES870XL

4-5 year old Barista Express started tripping the GFCI outlet during a descale / machine clean operation.

Removed the back of the machine and saw water / moisture around the right solenoid.

Ordered the entire valve solenoid kit, removed the connections, removed the old/original valve kit, then maneuvered the new valv e kit in.
Most difficult part was hooking up the hose to the spout on the far left side and then zip tying it.

If you are experiencing GFCI trips / power issues - order the entire valve kit.
Machine ran great after the replacement.
