The cap is made out of plastic and wears out over time, especially when it rubs against the ground. You may also notice that the string feeds outside of the head uncontrollably. To remove the glide cap, simply depress its locking tabs on each side and pull it away from the cutting head. Install the new glide cap by aligning it with the correct notches on the trimmer, pushing it into place, and using a screwdriver to secure the tabs. Please bear in mind that the glide cap is sold separately from the rest of the cutting head assembly.

This is a genuine anti-rotation screw from the Ryobi manufacturer. The metal screw is compatible with many lawn and garden trimmers. This item works to help secure the clutch cover assembly. This part is sold individually. A screwdriver is needed in making the repair.

This is a genuine OEM replacement part used with MTD lawn and garden trimmers. The screw & nuts (10 x 32) are used to fasten the shield assembly onto the lower boom assembly. This part is sold individually. A Phillips screwdriver and pliers are required for the proper installation.
