George - For model number AHTR10ACH2
June 12, 2026
the air conditioner shut off, when I turn back on the number 14 showed on the display, then the letter E came up several times then the unit shut down. unplugged it for 15 minutes, then I powered it back on. It started up like it was going to work, the coils got cold, the outside fan ran, but the fan blowing air across coils did not. the unit then showed 14 and the E then shut back down. Any ideas ?
Hello George, thank you for getting in touch. The "14" and "E" (or E14) on your air conditioner indicate a temperature sensor malfunction or internal communication fault (often between the main board and fan motor). Since the outside fan runs but the fan blowing air across the inside coils does not, the motor itself may be burned out, or its internal bearings might be locked. Replace the indoor fan motor, part number PS16619342, to fix the issue. We hope this helps.
