Part #WP1168670
The humidistat control, used in dehumidifiers, switches the dehumidifier on and off automatically to maintain humidity. If the switch does not work, the humidifier will not maintain the temperature properly. For this repair, screwdrivers are the only tools needed. First remove the knob and the screws from the top. Pry back the plastic retainers on one side of the old humidistat and remove wires before installing the new part and reattaching the two wires that connect to it. Remember to unplug the humidifier from the power source before installation.

Part #1188814
This part is for your dehumidifier. The bucket water level switch is used to prevent water overflow when the bucket is full. You will not be able to tell if the switch has failed just by looking at it. You will need to perform a continuity test. This will determine if a continual electrical path is present. If you notice that dehumidifier will not run even when the bucket is empty, it might be due to the switch needing to be replaced. To access the part, you will need to remove all the outer housing. The switch is located in a plastic holder found on the inside wall.

Zip Tie
Part #WPW10339879
A zip tie, also known as a cable tie or a wire tie, is a fastening device that holds wires or tubing together. If a machine has wires or tubing that are easily shifted, you need to hold them tightly together using a zip tie. It is a flexible, plastic strip that has serrated teeth and a locking mechanism. If the zip tie is damaged, it should be replaced. Freely moving wires may rub against surfaces, causing them to break over time. Zip ties are single-use and may not be reused after they are removed from a machine. To release the locking mechanism, you will need to insert a small flat tool into the head of the zip tie, between the tongue and the serration, and depress the bar. You can then pull the teeth out of the mechanism to loosen the cable tie. This part is produced by the original equipment manufacturer and is sold individually.

The knob one turns to set the humidity level was removed. The two screws holding the top on were removed. The top was lifted and swung to the side. After noting which of the two wires went where on the humidistat the wires were removed. Small flat screwdrivers were used to pry back the plastic retainers on one side of the original fai led humidistat. The new one was put in place, the two wires were reattached. The knob was replaced. The top was positioned and its two retaining screws replaced. A magnetic phillips screwdriver was handy but not necessary. Piece of cake! Someone with ten thumbs could do it!! Thanks for the prompt courteous attention to the returned erroneous part! Dealing with partselect. Com was a pleasure. . . . . . Thanks!! P. S. The dehumidifier works like new now!!

I was able to pull the old wheel off and then went to google on the computer and put in whirlpool dehumidifier. I was directed to a website where I could put in the model # of the appliancew and then was able to view pictures of repair parts. I was able to view the actual caster and determine that I was ordering the right one. The part ca me about 3 days later and I was able to snap it on without using any tools. There was alittle plastic guide to hold aside and slide the new caster in place.
