AC18 - Overview

ordered new part, removed old unit, noted where wires connect, installed new one, done.

I received the part the very next day which was awesome, but when I went to install it, there was a connection discrepency on the back of the switch, and the screw holes were completely off in the front where it connects to the unit. I needed Whirlpool part #1167617 but it is discontinued. Also Canada Whirlpool will not deliver it to the US, and Home depot parts doesn't have it. They told me to Google it. After Googling the part number a few times, it brought me to this site and showed me a picture of the knob on an inch graph. I'd already measured the actual hole on ... Read more my part. After speaking to a customer service person who said I could return the part if it didn't fit, I ordered. It was delivered in two days and fit like a glove. So if you still have this older unit air conditioner that still works and you want to use it a little longer, PartSelect knob #BT3075631 will replace Whirlpool knob part #1167617. Cosmetically, it's a little bigger on the outside but fits and works nicely.
