This SRM Echomatic head, commonly referred to as a bump head, is situated beneath the debris shield at the end of the drive shaft assembly in your trimmer. This type of cutting head features a convenient bump-to-advance line feeding system. By gently tapping it against the ground during operation, the line automatically advances without manual adjustments. The head can hold up to 20 feet of .095-inch line and can handle a maximum line diameter of .105 inches. If you observe that the line is not advancing, there is irregular feeding, or you notice visible wear, it has to be replaced. Start by inserting the locking tool into the hole on the drive shaft. Turn the cutter head clockwise to unthread it until you can detach it. Align the hole in the adapter plate of the new cutting head with the hole in the shaft. Install the locking tool and turn it counterclockwise until it is securely in place, then remove the locking tool. The little hook goes into the hole on the pole the cover gets put in from the big hook facing down towards the smaller hook. Put the smaller hook into the hole than push the cover down with some force then you’re ready to hang the attachment on any hook or anything it can hang off of
