The purpose of the eyelet is to let the cutting line out of the spool assembly with out damaging the part of the housing the the eyelet is installed in. It also allows the cutting line to exit the spool smoothly with out being cut. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. No tools are needed to replace this eyelet. Simply insert into the opening of the spool housing.

String trimmer needed a new button

Took the old button off trimmer head and put the new button in the head. About 2 minutes and done.
