Part #532183567
This Genuine OEM blade control cable assembly is designed for use with walk-behind and push lawn mowers. Sold individually, it includes a durable metal wire cable with Z-type bent ends, a rubberized protective cover, and a plastic mounting clip. This essential component connects the control handle to the engine brake system, stopping the blade when the handle is released to ensure safe operation. If the cable is broken, the brake may remain engaged even when the lever is pressed. Replacing the cable is a straightforward process that may require a pair of pliers. Begin by identifying where the old cable is attached to the motor assembly and remove it. Install the new cable in the same location, then route it up to the control handle. Insert the Z-shaped end into the hole in the control handle, just as with the original cable. Once both ends are connected, remove the upper mount of the old cable from the handle and secure the new one in its place. Finally, tie the cable in the same manner as the original, ensuring there is enough clearance and free play to prevent over-bending or premature wear. This replacement restores proper blade control and helps maintain safe mower operation.

Removed wheel by pressing off the plastic hub cap exposing the nut holding the wheel. I removed the nut, then pulled the wheel straight off the axel shaft. This exposed the broken dust cover. I they wiggled the dust cover off, cleaned the dirt from inside the wheel, placed the new dust cover, replaced the wheel, nut and hub cap.
