The compressor will not pump up beyond 80 PSI and it goes to 0 PSI as soon as you shut it off.
Hi Robert, thank you for reaching out to us. A compressor that stops building pressure at 80 PSI and drops instantly to zero on shutoff is most likely caused by a failed check valve. The check valve, part number PS12099363, sits between the pump and the tank and allows air in while preventing it from rushing back out. If it is stuck open or broken, air forces its way back through the pump head and vents out through the unloader valve the moment the motor stops, emptying the tank instantly. We hope this information helps!
