Part #591459
Hard starting or an engine that suddenly stops may point to a damaged magneto armature. This ignition coil turns magnetic energy from the spinning flywheel into the electrical pulse that fires the spark plug. First try a known-good spark plug and inspect the safety switches, grounding wire, terminals, and flywheel magnet. Confirm fit from the full engine identification numbers, since similar coils may mount differently. Work only with the engine off and cool. Disconnect the battery and spark plug lead before removing covers. During installation, use the air gap listed in the service manual and tighten the mounting screws evenly. Keep hands clear of the flywheel and use an insulated tester to check for spark.

Assembly, Holder, Brush
Part #66386GS
The brush holder assembly in your generator keeps the brushes in place, allowing them to touch the rotor. It consists of a plastic brush holder and two carbon brushes with lead wires and attached springs. You can usually find the holder assembly inside the generator housing, near the rotor and stator assembly. If the holder assembly is broken, it can cause improper electrical contact between the brushes and the rotor, leading to a loss of electrical current transfer. Additionally, over time, the brushes will wear down from use, resulting in inconsistent contact with the rotor. Look for visible signs of damage like cracks, breaks, or deformations in the holder. A damaged holder can cause unstable voltage, power surges, or your generator failing to generate electricity altogether. To remove the existing brush holder assembly from your generator, refer to your user guide for detailed instructions. It may involve removing a cover or access panel to reach it. Use a nut driver or suitable tool to disconnect the assembly from the rear-bearing carrier and any connected wires. Remember to magnetize the brush assembly and conduct a generator test after installing the new one. Please keep in mind that this authentic OEM part is sold individually.
