Hello Tom and thank you for writing. Take the input voltage to the motor using the volt ohmmeter. The motor-specified voltage must be present in all three phases. Examine the motor's electrical connections and terminals. ... Remove the motor voltage and disengage the motor from the machine that it is running. ... Check the motor for heat or burnt smell. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Hello, in regards to testing the evaporator fan motors they are 13v dc . To be sure about what has been recommended, should i get 13v dc on all of the three leads to the motor? And will that be a test between any combination of the three leads?(red, black and purple). And if i get on voltage coming to the motor what else can i check?

Hello Tom and thank you for writing. Use a multimeter to check the electrical resistance of the motor. Plug the probes from the multimeter into the two wires you identified coming out of the evaporator motor together, then turn the multimeter on and set it to resistance, or Ohms. Markdown the reading on the multimeter, then compare it to the resistance reading the evaporator motor should have. You can find the correct resistance specifications for the evaporator motor in the owner’s manual, an application-specific repair manual, or on the manufacturer’s website. If the reading doesn’t match the manufacturer’s specifications, the evaporator motor needs to be replaced. For your convenience, we have attached the link to your manual with specifications. We hope this helps. Good luck with your repair. https://www.nodevice.com/user-manuals/refrigerators/kenmore/79579983510/1069540?page=229 Here is also the manufacturer's phone number: Kenmore 888-536-6673

Hello Charles, thank you for reaching out. If your refrigerator freezer is not working then the problem appears to be with the Compressor, part number PS12739218. If that does not help then the issue is likely to be with the Evaporator Fan Motor, part number PS10058947. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair!

Ice chute would not open.
Removed ice dispenser and display with small screwdriver from front of the fridge. Pried out the whole piece slowly. This exposed the motor that activates the chute. Plugged in the new motor before any removal to verify the motor was the problem. When it worked, removed old and installed new. 3 screws. Piece of cake.

Ice Maker Quit Making Ice
For this model the ice maker is very easy to replace. All it takes is a phillips head screwdriver. There are two wire connections you have to unplug. Easy out easy in. You do not have to disconnect the water line, just make sure the line is lined up correctly when you reinstall the new icemaker. It seems to take approximately 8 hours before you start getting ice again. If you have this same model, you already know this ice maker is very slow in making ice and is not able to keep up with daily usage of ice for a household of 3.
