Purchased 11/2015 - Had various issues including having the compressor replaced 2020. Issue now is the top part isn't keeping things as cold as before.
1) I wonder if a failed defrost timer would do this and
2) How many evaporator fans does this model have? If the one servicing the top is bad it would't get air flow.

Hello Richard, Thank you for the question. This model has one Evaporator Fan for the freezer, PartSelect Number PS10058947. If the fan is not running, the air will not circulate to keep the appliance cool. We also suggest testing the Defrost Controller Sensor with a Multimeter to check the continuity. We hope this solves your problem!

For this model the ice maker is very easy to replace. All it takes is a phillips head screwdriver. There are two wire connections you have to unplug. Easy out easy in. Watch YouTube videos on this topic if you are uncertain before tackling the job. The right door was easy to replace. Just pull the gasket with your fingers and it will come off easily. Place new gasket over door and use fingers to press it inside the groove few inches at a time. Pay attention to gasket orientation.

... Read more door is a bit harder because you need to remove the mullion at the door edge using a screw driver. Remove two screws on the center hinge and then slide the mullion up to disengage. Then unplug the wires to remove the mullion. Replace the gasket as described above and replace the mullion reversing the directions shown above.
