refrigerator and freezer not cooling below 50 degrees F may be coincecedental, but after several power outages

Hello James, thank you for your question. Make sure that the temperature settings on both the refrigerator and freezer are set correctly. Dirty or clogged condenser coils can impede proper cooling. Locate the condenser coils and clean them using a vacuum cleaner or a brush. If this does not help, you will need to replace the sensor assembly, part number PS3531167. We hope this information is useful!

Ice chute would not open.
Removed ice dispenser and display with small screwdriver from front of the fridge. Pried out the whole piece slowly. This exposed the motor that activates the chute. Plugged in the new motor before any removal to verify the motor was the problem. When it worked, removed old and installed new. 3 screws. Piece of cake.

Ice Maker Quit Making Ice
For this model the ice maker is very easy to replace. All it takes is a phillips head screwdriver. There are two wire connections you have to unplug. Easy out easy in. You do not have to disconnect the water line, just make sure the line is lined up correctly when you reinstall the new icemaker. It seems to take approximately 8 hours before you start getting ice again. If you have this same model, you already know this ice maker is very slow in making ice and is not able to keep up with daily usage of ice for a household of 3.

Ice crystals appearing on the face of the freezer draws
Part Select had a great video which made the repair easy, using a putty knife to start removing the freeze door gasket. Once removed the install is simple just snap the new gasket into the track, but start at the corner. Other company's have a video requiring you to remove the entire freezer compartment out of the appliance, unnecessary waste of time and labor.
