If shipping leaves folds, soak the gasket in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes or use a hair dryer on low. Do not overheat the rubber. This fridge gasket, also known as a door seal, is an authentic OEM part supplied by LG for use with various models of LG refrigerators. It is a flexible strip of rubber that sits along the perimeter of the refrigerator. It creates an airtight seal between the door and fridge body to prevent cold air from escaping and warm air from entering. This helps to keep your fridge cool and energy efficient. This is an exact replacement. Be aware that the left door and right door have differently shaped shelves, so you need to make sure you are buying the correct part for the left or right door. Remove food items from shelf, pull straight up and discard broken shelf. Insert new shelf onto the same door nubs and push down. Place food items back into shelf. Now warn family members in the future not to the slam door into oversized food items placed in the shelf!

Ice crystals appearing on the face of the freezer draws

  • Craig from SPRING HILL, FL
  • Really Easy

Part Select had a great video which made the repair easy, using a putty knife to start removing the freeze door gasket. Once removed the install is simple just snap the new gasket into the track, but start at the corner. Other company's have a video requiring you to remove the entire freezer compartment out of the appliance, unnecessary w aste of time and labor.
