every once in a while week or two there is water that appears on the front edge of the frig. Looked under it's bone dry, just at the edge and runs out from there. Any ideas

Hi Jim, thank you for your inquiry. The issue could be due to a clogged or partially frozen defrost drain. When the defrost drain backs up, meltwater pools inside the freezer compartment and slowly migrates forward, leaking out at the front threshold rather than going under the unit. Clear the defrost drain by pouring warm water down the drain hole inside the freezer floor. Also, inspect the freezer door gasket for any tears or areas that aren't sealing tightly. 1. Shut off water to refrigerator. 2. Removed bottom sheet metal cover (6 screws). 3. Removed leaking water inlet valve assembly from refrigerator (1 screw). 4. Remove water inlet tube (loosen nut) and tube back to refrigerator (pull from water valve after remove cotter pin washer). 5. Detach two electrical wire harnesses. 6. Install new

Video makes it look easy. Kenmore refrigerator does not have "groove" along the right hand side of switch that allows for pushing down on release. Used a thin screwdriver to get under to push while holding switch edge with pliers. Kept slipping. Tape sides to avoid scratching inside of refrigerator.
Found the broken spring; matched it with parts diagram. Googled for sources via part number. Selected this site because it had best deal - price, availability, shipping. Part arrived as predicted; installed it in 2 minutes. Job done. Door now works.
