Part #6930W1A003X
The range thermostat is also commonly known as a stove, oven, cooktop, or range thermal fuse. This thermostat protects your oven from excessive heating, and will shut the oven heat off if excessive heating is detected. This is a genuine part sourced directly from the original manufacturer. You may need to replace this part if your appliance will not heat properly. It is made of metal and is approximately 1 inch in diameter. This part is sold individually. It is recommended to order a spare, especially if you commonly use the self-cleaning function in your oven.

Micro Switch

Part #6600W1K001D
The door switch, often referred to as a primary interlock switch, provides power to the various components in the microwave when the door is in a closed position, and interrupts power when the door is open. This door switch is approximately 1 1/2 inches long, and has 2 metal prongs called terminals that extend from its body. Common symptoms related to a faulty primary door switch include: microwave will not turn/shut off, or the microwave will not heat properly. You can check the switch for continuity using a multi-meter. With the actuator button depressed, you should see continuity between these terminals. If there is no continuity the switch will need to be replaced. NOTE: Before you begin this repair, first make sure your microwave is unplugged, and that your capacitor is discharged. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even when your microwave is unplugged.

Time Delay Fuse

Part #3B74133Q
The fuse-time delay may also be known as a line fuse or a microwave fuse, and it is a piece for your microwave. The function of this part is to shut off the microwave if there is a power surge, in order to protect your microwave from damage. You should consider having a service technician install this part as the high-voltage capacitors in a microwave can contain a very harmful electrical charge, even when the microwave is unplugged and has been inactive for some time. The tools that would be needed to complete this installation include a Phillips screwdriver, an insulated screwdriver, and a pair of pliers.

Magnetron
★★★★★

(8)
Part #6324W1A001L
This magnetron in your microwave creates the radiation needed for cooking or warming your food. It is located inside the main cavity, typically near the transformer or waveguide. When the magnetron becomes defective, your food may not heat up properly or heat up at all. Additionally, buzzing or humming sounds may be noticeable while the microwave is in operation. With a malfunctioning magnetron, your microwave loses its primary function. To remove it, you first need to unplug your microwave from its outlet. Before touching any components, discharge the capacitor by placing a screwdriver, with an insulated handle, across the two terminals of the capacitor. Once the capacitor is discharged, replace the current magnetron by disconnecting it from any wires and removing any mounting screws or clips. This magnetron is sold individually and is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer.

Diode (Cable, Assembly)
★★★★★

Part #6851W1A002E
Usually found kitchen appliances, this OEM-certified diode cable assembly helps to convert power from the transformer to the magnetron, to heat up your food. A damaged cable assembly will cause your appliance to heat food inconsistently or to not work at all. You might notice a burning smell or a loud buzzing sound coming from your appliance. If you do not replace a broken cable assembly, the components that produce heat in your appliance can overheat and fail. To replace your cable assembly, start by unplugging your appliance from any electrical source. Remove any protective casing from the assembly by unthreading any screws or clips. Disconnect the cable assembly from the transformer and the magnetron with pliers. Reinstalling a new cable assembly requires you to reverse the previous steps. Please keep in mind that this cable assembly is sold individually.

Broken door micro switch. (unit does not start heating)
37 of 68 people found this instruction helpful.
  • JAMES from BILLINGS, MT
  • Very Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
Unplug the unit before servicing. Need phillips screwdriver. Open door. Use step ladder to access and remove 2 small screws from top of the room air diffuser at top of unit. Slide diffuser slightly to the left to align the diffuser's plastic tab on the left side to rotate toward you. (The wires for the front control panel are at the far l eft side of this difuser, but difuser is slotted for easy removal). Once the difuser is removed you will see 1 screw at the top that secures the pannel cover on the left side of the unit. Remove screw and slide this panel slightly up and out. This exposes the plastic frame that holds the upper and lower door switches. To locate the door switches and observe how they work, close and open the door and watch the door (bayonets) open and close the micro switches. Do the (red) buttons on top of the switches move up and down when the door bayonets push and release? If the buttons do not "pop" up when opened the switch is defective. The switch frame is secured with 2 screws. Remove screws and rotate the unit out for easy access to the micro switch(s). The internal (spring?) on my unit that is suposed to allow the red (visible) button on top of the switch to "pop" up when the door is opened was broken. Carefully pry the switch outward while being careful to lift the plastic holder-piece that holds the switch in place. Be careful, there is a small pin on the frame, so rotate the switch OUT toward you while lifting (carefully) the plastic holder-piece (you will see it on top of the switch). You can use an ohm meter to test the continuity of the switches. But if the buttons don't "pop" they are defective. Replace switch and reassemble.

Door sensor switch went bad. Microwave would not operate.

  • Randall from ARCADIA, CA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Watched a couple of repair videos on Youtube by searching for the model number. Found out what to do in order not to get shocked by the powerful capacitor.
Ordered the two switches (To be sure, I could have ordered a third switch as suggested in the videos.)
Bought a tamper-proof star bit to get the cover off. Followed the dir ections to replace the switches. - I broke the harness and had to use some super glue, but it's all good. I should have removed the harness instead of trying to get a switch out while it was still in place.
It's all back together, and the wife is happy!!
