The brush holder assembly in your generator keeps the brushes in place, allowing them to touch the rotor. It consists of a plastic brush holder and two carbon brushes with lead wires and attached springs. You can usually find the holder assembly inside the generator housing, near the rotor and stator assembly. If the holder assembly is br...Read moreoken, it can cause improper electrical contact between the brushes and the rotor, leading to a loss of electrical current transfer. Additionally, over time, the brushes will wear down from use, resulting in inconsistent contact with the rotor. Look for visible signs of damage like cracks, breaks, or deformations in the holder. A damaged holder can cause unstable voltage, power surges, or your generator failing to generate electricity altogether. To remove the existing brush holder assembly from your generator, refer to your user guide for detailed instructions. It may involve removing a cover or access panel to reach it. Use a nut driver or suitable tool to disconnect the assembly from the rear-bearing carrier and any connected wires. Remember to magnetize the brush assembly and conduct a generator test after installing the new one. Please keep in mind that this authentic OEM part is sold individually.
