Microwave works properly with door closed during normal operation. When ever microwave is off due to door opening or timer is at 0:00 a humming noise can be heard like it is trying to cook but there is no fan running and tray does not rotate. Humming noise can only be stopped by disconnecting power at wall outlet. This has happened intermittently before. But now all the time.

Hi James, Thank you for your question. If the microwave is making noise when it is not in use, there may be an issue with the magnetron and it will need to be replaced. Since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. We have included a link on how to discharge the current in the capacitor. If you do not feel that this is a repair that you can do yourself, you will need to contact an appliance technician. We hope this helps!

Hi Steve, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you provided, we would recommend making sure that the ribbon connecting the keypad to the board is secured properly and not damaged. If that is not causing the issue, then you may need to check the relay control board, part number PS4235750, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this is helpful!

Not the original type bulb
The repair was very easy, however the bulb was not the same as the original one. The original bulb had a bright setting and a low setting, but the replacement bulb was only the low setting bulb. There was no bright and dim operation. The switch on the microwave had the duel settings.

Buzzing noise, no heating of food
Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb.

microwave ran with the door open
First I read through the customer comments, reviews, questions, etc. at Parts Select, which is always a good bet. Then I put "samsung microwave door switch replacement" into youtube and watched some videos. They don't even have to be for Samsung. From what I can tell, many of the appliance companies use the same design and the same junk parts, so watching a GE video is almost the same for example. Watch some videos to familiarize yourself with the steps. There are maybe six to disassemble and install the new part. I replaced all three switches. They are not expensive and to replace 3 is only 5% more work than to replace just one; you have to take the microwave apart in either case. UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE FROM THE WALL. Start taking it apart. I use my phone to take a picture of any thing I remove, unscrew or disconnect, especially wires, BEFORE I disconnect them. Thee pictures serve as a reference when I go to reconnect and reassemble. If I am uncertain then I check the picture. Good luck!
