This drive motor is for trash compactors. The drive motor turns the gears and chain that raise and lower the compactor ram. If your trash compactor will not start or will not stay on during the compaction cycle, you may have a defective drive motor. The start or run switch is used to supply power to the motor to initiate the compaction cycle. If the windings in the motor are open or if the motor centrifugal switch is open, the unit will not start. To check for a defective motor, you will need to remove the unit from the cabinets and disconnect the power.

Well, when you put the back cover on and screw it down make sure you have nothing touching the white wire leading to the oven light. I did and it blew the push switch when I threw the 220 breaker. Actually, the light was on when I came in the room, but when I pushed the switch on the front panel it sparked in the rear and popped the break er. Then I saw the short and when I tested the switch it would not click. The install was fine.
