Scott - For model number 25328432809
March 20, 2025
Hi there..my freezer seems to holding temp fine but the vent slot at the bottom of the back wall inside has completely frozen over solid and is completely blocked? Approximately 4 months earlier we had moved the freezer about 4 foot to one side in the laundry room, can't recall how long after ( 1 week?) we did have some water underneath. Cleaned it up and it never came back. I'm assuming the defrost cycle isn't working. One repair person I talked to said to replace the main control board. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Scott
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Scott, thank you for reaching out. We suggest testing the defrost heater first. The defrost heater should measure in the range of something like 10-50 ohms. We hope this information is useful!

Should the compressor ever turn off
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Henry, thank you for the question. Yes, the compressor could turn off. It cycles on and off to maintain the desired temperature, and it's normal for it to do so. The compressor turns on when the temperature inside the refrigerator or freezer rises above the set point and turns off when it reaches the desired temperature. We hope this information helps!
