21AV Presto Canner - Overview

This is a genuine Presto replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the 09907 Pressure Canner Sealing Ring/Air Vent is two-fold. The sealing ring is used to create a seal between the Pressure cooker lid and the pressure cooker pot. In the event if the pressure regulator fails, and to much pressure builds up in the pot, the Air Vent will pop out of the lid releasing the excess pressure in the pot.

This is a genuine Presto replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the 85444 Pressure Canner Cover Handle, is to tighten the cover to the pot. There are two of these on each of the Pressure Canners shown below. Each cover handle does include two mounting screws.

It is above the bottom of the the pot approximately 1/4-1/2 inch. If it was laying flat on the bottom of the canning pot, the heat from the pot would cause the canning jars to break.
