Engine Filter
Part #298090S
This is a round, inline fuel filter with 0.25-inch nipples, used in a variety of lawn and garden equipment. It is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer and has the capability to filter out particles as small as 150 microns in size. The filter is designed to remove any dirt or debris in the fuel to avoid contaminating the engine. Over time, it is common for the filter to become clogged with dirt/debris or damaged, resulting in less fuel entering the engine, engine misfiring, stalling, and overall lower performance from your equipment. To replace the faulty fuel filter, first disconnect the fuel lines with pliers or a clamp tool and then pull out the old filter. I have a solid understanding of small engines. This pressure washer was used twice in 2013, when purchased. Sat in a garage for a couple of years with gas in tank and carburetor. Owner was moving and after 7 years of moving it around he sold it at a garage sale.
I took it home and took off gas tank and thoroughly cleaned it. Then we nt through the carburetor and let soak in cleaner. Cleaned up the spark plug, tested and has good spark. reinstalled carburetor but would not start. I knew I had gas issues. I ordered a carburetor kit and replace the needle valve and seals. Still would not start. Ordered a new carburetor and spark plug. Installed both. Two pulls and it runs like new. Advice: don't try to clean out old carburetor, just buy a new one and install.
