Hello Tom, Thank you for your inquiry. First we would recommend checking and cleaning the compressor coils. It could also be an issue with the cold control thermostat, the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater, and the relay and overload. You can test the parts with a multimeter. Hi Thomas, Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator does not start after the defrost mode completes, the thermostat assembly may be malfunctioning. You will need to test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it is working correctly. After locating it, remove the control from the refrigerator, set the control to the lowest (warmest) setting, place your multimeter on the Rx1 setting, and touch the probes to the terminals to test for continuity. You should receive a reading of infinity. While still touching the terminals with the probes, change the control to a colder (higher) setting. This should change the reading from infinity to zero.
