It helps raise the door into position so the door can seal properly when closed. It also allows the door to easily swing open and closed. This cam is made out of plastic, so it might crack or wear down over time. If your door will not open and close properly you may need to replace a door closing cam. To successfully install this part, you will need a 5/16 nut driver and a small flat blade screwdriver. Before you begin, unplug your appliance and disconnect the water supply. This is a control bracket for your refrigerator, and may also be known as the dispenser control bracket. The function of this part is to be used as a fastener to hold the micro switches and the light socket in the freezer dispenser section in place. Its measurements are roughly 9 inches long and 5 inches high, and this model comes in white. The tools you will need in order to make this installation include a Phillips screw driver, a quarter-inch nut-driver, and a pair of needle-nose pliers. Icemaker Control Assembly

The icemaker control assembly is located in the freezer section of your refrigerator. It is what controls the icemaker. The control turns the timing cams and the ejector blades. It controls most of the basic parts and functions, such as the heater, the water inlet valve, the cube size, and cube ejection. This replacement includes the control module and the motor, the motor is not sold separately. There are a number of reasons you might need to replace this part: if the motor is faulty, if any of the gears are worn out, or any of the plastic pieces are broken or damaged. If your icemaker is not functioning properly, you should start by testing this module. Before you begin repairing your refrigerator, make sure it is unplugged.

removed flap door in front of icemaker...removed 3 screws with bolt heads...removed one additional screw with bolt head and ice unit slid out. I removed motor unit (pops out no screws). Replaced and had ice within 3 hours. read more

Thanks to the pictorial diagram, I was able to order correct parts. It was just a matter of removal of broken parts and replacing them. Ice maker now working and air is no longer getting into freezer which was freezing up ice maker. Thanks for timely delivery, now I am able to use ice dispenser, which I haven't used for long time.
