Spring latch broke and bowl would wabble around when the mixer was on
I unscrewed the spring latch (I could not find a screw driver- so I used a butter knife) I took the new one and screwed it on........the total time took about 2 minutes!
The best news was that the parts were delivered in 2 days after ordering!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

One use is as a base to help hold the jug in place while mixing and then to be used as a lid while the jug is being stored. This part should be replaced if the seal or the lid has been damaged.

The shield works sufficiently. Note that the shield is not a continuous circle as shown in the picture. This actually can be an asset because it can be installed or disassembled without stopping the mixer of having to lift the head while running.
A loose lid or an appliance that will not start may be caused by damaged cover tabs or poor alignment with the bowl. The cover contains ingredients during chopping and helps ensure safe operation while the blade is moving. First clean the contact surfaces and inspect the bowl, latch points, and interlock area. Match the replacement to the full model number because similar covers can differ in size and locking design. Disconnect power before inspection, keep hands away from the blade, and verify that the cover locks securely before using the appliance again.
