This OEM filter is sold individually. Change your filter every 6 months for the best results. This filter is found in top-freezer and bottom-freezer refrigerators located in the back upper right corner. It measures 4.75-Inches deep, 9.5-Inches high, and 5.25-Inches wide. It is certified to reduce particles, chlorine-resistant cysts, lead and five other impurities. The pressure requirement is 40-120 PSI (if yours exceeds this, youll need to install a pressure-timing valve), and the operating temperature needs to be 33-100 degrees Fahrenheit. It filters down to 0.5-1 microns. The installation is simple and does not require any tools or mess. To remove the old cartridge, turn it to the left and pull down carefully. Some water might drip, so keep a cloth handy. To install the new filter, place it into the cartridge holder and turn to the right until it will no longer turn. If you have a top-freezer model it should be situated vertically, and if it is a bottom-freezer model, it should be placed horizontally. Be careful not to over-tighten. If your model has a replacement indicator light, reset it by pushing and holding it down for three seconds. If your model has a dispenser, run water through it for approximately 3 minutes to clear the system. Please note that this filter will not work in Kenmore brand models.

The fill cycles would start then stop suddenly
This was an easy repair.
1st I removed both water hoses
2nd I removed 1 hex head screw that released a backing plate & removed the plate holding the water inlet valve.
3rd I pulled the 4 electrical connections & loosened a clamp to remove a small water hose.
4th I removed 2 hex head screws that held the water valve to the backing plate.
-----------that was a whole 5 - 10 minutes!------------
Next I reversed the process
4th I attached the inlet valve with the 2 hex head screws
5th re-attached the 4 electrical connections(had slip on spades) pushed on the hose & tighterned the clamp.
6th replaced the backing plate with the inlet valve attached & tightened the single hex head screw.
7th re-attached the hot & cold lines................................DONE

Ice Maker Refrigerator Water Filter Head And Tubing
PartSelect Number PS1518098
Manufacturer Part Number WR17X12301
The water filter head and tubing holds the water filter and comes with the water lines.
Installation Instructions
Nancy from PARRISH, FL
No water from dispenser, just a trickle
Troubleshooting was the most difficult job, but Parts Select helped with good info and videos. The water filter pushes down on a small plunger that allows the water to flow. If the water filter is bad or clogged up and needs replacement this plunger will not allow the water flow. I tried using the water filter bypass plug but this did not solve the problem either. The plunger was defective or worn out. I ordered the filter & tube assembly from parts select, and followed the simple instructions to change it out. Turn off the water supply first and put some towels down because they’ll be a little spillage out of the tubes. Unscrew both of the tubes with a crescent wrench. Remove the two screws on the filter assembly inside the refrigerator, and pull it forward to take it out -the tubes will follow. Insert the new assembly, tubes first thru the hole inside the back of the refrigerator. Reconnect the tubes and remount the filter assembly inside. Stuff putty back inside the hole with the tubes and reattach the metal cover. This is an easy repair. I am an old lady, so the hardest part was pulling the refrigerator out to get behind it!
