The Fuel Filter is a white and silver, individually sold, steel part. It reuires pliers to install and its installation is rated as Easy. The part attaches inside of the fuel tank and is used to clean the fuel of debris. It should be changed regularly. Check your owners manual for the recommended replacement schedule for your engine. If the fuel is leaking or their is a blockage, you will know the part is broken and will likely need to be replaced. To check for small leaks, feel around for dampness and the smell of fuel.

Replace clogged fuel filter.

Thru fuel cap, insert copper wire with hook formed on end. Fish around until you grab the fuel line. Pull the fuel line and filter thru the fuel fill neck.
Pull off old filter and replace with new. Push back into fuel tank & be done. Read more...

This pre filter set is a an authentic OEM item designed for Makita 4-stroke handheld cut-off saws. These high quality pre filters help ensuring the air that goes into the engine is free of dust and other contaminants. If the air filter becomes clogged, it may cause poor engine performance. This set includes (1) foam pre filter and (1) bag of a special oil to soak the filter in. The oil will help to trap fine dust and particles.
